Our organic raw lucuma fruit power is sustainably grown in the coastal highland lucuma orchards of Peru. The sweet biscuit-like caramel flavour has earned lucuma its place of esteem amongst raw foodists and traditionally in Peru, where lucuma is the favourite flavour of ice-cream. It takes time to cultivate this unique and delicate flavour, as the fruit naturally fall from the trees unripe. They are then ripened under hay until the fruit flesh sweetens and softens, ready to be dehydrated at low temperatures and milled into our fine powder.
Lucuma is a rich source of natural fruit sugars combined with a high fibre content, making it an excellent choice for anyone transitioning away from conventional "free sugar", as the fibre slows the bodies metabolism of the sweeter element, reducing the characteristic blood sugar / insulin spike. Lucuma fruit powder contains a source of calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium and zinc (see nutrient chart tab for values). As it's bright orange flesh suggests, lucuma is also high in beta-carotene.

How to use
Why not try adding lucuma to smoothies, raw chocolates, desserts, ice creams, kefirs, porridges & mueslis, baking or have fun experimenting with how it livens up your time honoured classic dishes.
Average serving size: 10 grams (2 teaspoons).
There are no know restrictions on the upper limit of lucuma one can use, enjoy freely!
As with introducing all new foods, start small and work your way up over a period of time that feels best for you as an individual. A small serving would be equal to half a teaspoon.
